This is a project I just finished, a table runner for friends who are getting married.

This is an installation called 'traveling light'. Below it is seen packed up post de-installation. It was fun carrying the case crammed with blue mono-filament around Chinatown, Boston and then getting it home on the MBTA. Strangers ogled the suspicious package and asked me questions about its contents.

'traveling light' won a juror's choice prize at Attleboro Arts Museum's national juried exhibition 'Out of the Blue'.

This is something I've been working on for The Cork Harbour Project, an international research-based residency which I participated in at Sirius Arts Center in Cobh, County Cork, Ireland.

I used a process known as shifu to spin pages of an Irish-English dictionary into lengths of yarn. The yarn pours out of the book, becoming like a warp for weaving. In weaving the warp is the long vertical threads which the weft is woven over and under.

My roommate said it looks "biblical". I like her observation; it reminded me of a passage from author Diane Ackerman, that..."the sky starts from the ground up. You are constantly walking in sky."

I just purchased this Herald loom. I'm studying weaving as an apprentice. Still very much a beginner, but you have to start somewhere...
